Functions (Grade 11) MCR3U
A note on Functions (MCR3U): Functions is the gateway to all senior mathematics — Advanced Functions, Calculus, and Data Management. Students who complete MCR3U this summer arrive in Grade 11 a full step ahead, with the option to take Grade 12 math a year early and significantly more flexibility in how they build their final two years of high school.
Why summer school matters for university applications: University offers in Ontario are based on the Grade 12 average. Students who arrive in September already holding one or more strong credits have more time for exam preparation, university applications, extracurriculars, and the electives they actually want to take.

Senior Admissions Strategist
Jenny Feng
Jenny Feng brings a rare combination of corporate leadership and student mentorship to the Merit College consulting team.
Ivy League AdmissionsProfile StrategyNarrative Development
Jenny Feng brings a rare combination of corporate leadership and student mentorship to the Merit College consulting team. A former Senior Manager at Scotiabank with direct involvement in talent evaluation and hiring, and an Investments and Partnerships Manager at NetEase Interactive where she worked alongside VP-level executives and international teams, Jenny understands — from the inside — what institutional decision-makers look for when assessing candidates. She has mentored students into top U.S. universities with a focus on Ivy League placements, and brings deep familiarity with elite American higher education. At Merit College, Jenny specialises in building differentiated student profiles, developing authentic personal narratives, and strategically positioning extracurricular experience so that each student's unique strengths are visible and compelling to admissions committees. Her work with students focuses on the full picture — not just the application, but the confidence, communication, and professional presence that make a candidate genuinely memorable.
Senior Academic Strategist
Dr. Ryan Wei
Ryan Wei brings two decades of academic and instructional experience to the Merit College consulting team.
OxbridgeAcademic StrategyNarrative Development
Ryan Wei brings two decades of academic and instructional experience to the Merit College consulting team, with credentials that span the highest levels of Western scholarship and hands-on admissions work. An Oxford-educated scholar holding both a DPhil and MPhil, and a current lecturer at York University, Ryan combines the rigour of classical research methodology with deep practical familiarity with the institutions and processes that matter most to Merit College families. He has guided domestic and international students through competitive OUAC and Common App pathways, and has led international academic programmes across jurisdictions — including a global programme based in Rome — giving him an unusually broad view of how elite institutions evaluate candidates from different educational backgrounds. Bilingual in English and Mandarin, Ryan specialises in bridging the gap between international student profiles and the expectations of North American admissions committees, with particular expertise in narrative building, personal statement development, and the strategic positioning of extracurricular experience. At Merit College, he works with students who need not just a stronger application, but a clearer and more compelling story about who they are.
